Hello…. and welcome!

My name is Izzy, and I’m a sixteen year old student from London. I have started this blog in order to have an outlet for the political thought and criticism that I have accumulated over the past couple of years. And there’s a lot, British politics is crazy!

Being only sixteen years old, I am unable to vote (a topic I will definitely be writing about…watch this space). However, through social media, news outlets, and endless conversations with my family and friends, I have realised that I have a love for politics. Ultimately, politics is about people, and the power we can give and gain- and this fascinates me.

The beauty of politics is that it begins conversations, as no two people truly believe the exact same thing, whatever side of the political spectrum they lie on. And this is what makes political conversation, criticism and even journalism so interesting (for me, at least), as long as it remains civil and everyone gets a chance to share their view.

So welcome! I hope you’ve enjoyed this small introduction about ‘Politically Speaking’, as it means so much to me that people can access information and share their views about something that affects all of us.
